7 Days to End Hair Loss (day 6)

August 31st, 2009

It’s Day 6 of your Hair Restoration Journey.

What I’m about to share with you is essentially the Single Biggest
Key to Change…

…A Disciplined Routine

1. Get up at 6:00AM. (I have been a “night owl” for most of my
life.) This was a huge change in my life, and a hard one for that
matter.

2. Go Downstairs and drink .5 liters of purified water

3. Go for walk or run for 30 minutes
a. I listen to a self improvement coach during this time.  Other
times I pose myself a question and think about solutions.
b. I run when I feel like it and when I want the challenge; I
alternate between walking & running.

4. Get back and drink 1/8 Liter of purified water

5. Make a protein shake. Whey powder, soy milk, frozen strawberries
& bananas.

6. Meditate for 5-10 minutes. Clear my mind of everything that will
bombard me throughout the day and what stresses that I normally
give too much attention to. Some may take this time to pray.

7. Read something inspirational. This could be just about anything.
I enjoy learning, so I choose something that teaches about life
as well is uplifting.

8. Do one thing of service for my wife or children. You will feel so
much better about yourself and your day if you do something for
someone else at the beginning of each day. If there is no one
else where you live, do something for your neighbor.  Be creative.

9. Eat a healthy breakfast.  Take multivitamin & supplements. I go
more into that in Dave’s 10 Minute Method
(http://www.daves10.com/hair-loss.htm)

10. Go to work.
a. I listen to instructional CDs while driving. Make your car
your classroom
b. I take incremental breaks throughout the day to stay
productive.
c. Drink another Liter of purified water throughout the day.

11. Home. Eat a healthy dinner.  Spend time with the kids and wife
uninterrupted by TV, email, web surfing, business. Keep family
time and work separate.

12. Be asleep by 11:00PM. Get 7 hours of sleep.

In regards to washing my hair, I use the products mentioned in
Dave’s 10 Minute Method every other day. Don’t over wash your hair.

Remember, whatever you decide to do, make it easy enough to follow
on a consistent basis.

There are a lot of other keys subtly mentioned in my daily schedule,
and one that I’ll go into with more detail tomorrow.

7 Days to End Hair Loss (day 5)

August 30th, 2009

It’s Day 5 and you should be seeing some results now that you have
started using these keys.

Assuming you’ve followed these steps, I applaud you and look
forward (as I am sure you do) to ending your hair loss completely &
continuing on to attaining a full, healthy head of hair as well as
increased confidence.

I need to ask though – You did start them didn’t you?  If not, you
need to ask yourself – why not?  If you truly want to stop your hair
loss, it is easy as following the steps I list in my report.

With that said, here is the next key.

Get 7 to 8 hours of sleep every night.

This is a simple and yet overlooked step that seems like it does
absolutely nothing for your hair. However, as I mentioned before,
getting the proper amount of sleep every night is crucial for your
body to have time to physically regenerate and recover from the
day’s work.

Mentally, your mind needs to process the day. Not allowing the time
for your mind to recuperate will give you a feeling of anxiety and
stress.

Tomorrow I’ll be revealing the Single Biggest Key to Seeing Change.
In fact, it’s more important than anything I’ve mentioned so far,
and yet it reinforces everything I’ve said as well.

7 Days to End Hair Loss (day 4)

August 30th, 2009

It’s Day 4 of your Hair Restoration Journey, and we’ve come to the
final key that I am revealing here. This key along with the others
I have mentioned are equally important.

To continue on your journey, you must know what you are putting on
your head!

Face it, you don’t think too much about what shampoo you use.  Most
of guys use an easy four-in-one – sports shampoo, conditioner,
body wash & automotive degreaser in one easy-to-use bottle for our
hair!

You may be saying, “Hey, I got things to do and places to go and I
don’t need to carry six bottles of girl’s shampoo around everywhere
- cluttering up my life!”

First of all, the products I use are specially designed for men and
secondly you can simplify your daily routine so it feels natural to
you after you have tried it for a couple days.

You have to get hair care products and not the old scented sports
shampoo & conditioner.  If you feel weird about bringing hair care
shampoos in their original bottle to the gym, just rinse out your
old shampoo bottle and replace it with the good stuff.

Even better, get travel containers or bottles. You can do the same
at home if you don’t want your honey to see that you are working on
bettering your appearance.

The great thing about these products is that you can buy them online
or at your local store.

Now what products work the best?  Well, I’ve done my research and
found several products that I have used regularly that are
surprisingly inexpensive. For all of them together it averages me
less than $9 a month and work phenomenally well.

It is actually cheaper than $9 when you figure in what it replaces
that you already use.

That is right, I’m 35 and I didn’t know about this stuff until about
a year ago.  My hair now looks better, healthier and fuller than it
did years ago.  As I say, you don’t have to wait days to see results.

Just follow the steps in Dave’s 10-Minute Method and you will be
amazed by the results – http://www.daves10.com

7 Days to End Hair Loss (day 3)

August 29th, 2009

So it’s Day 3 now on your Hair Restoration Journey.

I have to break something to you. Not every part of your journey
will be pleasant.  Some of it will involve increasing your
discipline and denying yourself those things you take for granted.
So with that I need to say…

“Get ready for some pain”

This profound realization hurt me the most.  Because, you see, I had
an addiction.

It wasn’t anything the average person would see as an addiction.

I was wearing my self thin by over committing and staying up late
watching TV, getting up late and getting into a downward spiral.
What enabled me to do this every day was caffeine.

I was extremely dependent on it to get me through the day. I was
robbing my body of the time it needed to recuperate and my mind the
time it needed to process the day’s events every night and I was
replacing it with a drug.

When I realized what this addiction was doing to my body and the
unnatural patterns it instilled, I realized that I had to stop.
And I am so glad I did.

I have NO FALL-OUT now.

Drink a fruit beverage, milk or other non-caffeinated drink in its
place if you need something with flavor. The best drink for you is
purified water of course.

Caffeine is also a toxin. That is right, one reason you get a burst
of energy from drinking it is that your body speeds up to get it
out of your system, one of the reasons it makes you urinate more.

If you can’t stop coffee cold turkey, go half caffeine and half
decaf until you can go decaf, then to no coffee. Drink water.

Do this for yourself. For your hair and for your entire well being

“But I need caffeine because I don’t get enough sleep” (I’ll cover
that issue on Day 4).

** Tomorrow I will be sharing my daily routine with you.**

Herbs that Stop Hair Loss

August 28th, 2009

Here are the celebrities of the supplement world when it comes to promoting hair growth and preventing hair loss.  *Always check with your health care provider before taking supplements. Some supplements have not been included in the list below because of a possibility of a stronger negative effect on the health of the man taking them:

  1. Black currant oil: High in Gamma-Linolenic Acid, which supports hair growth.  May take 60 to 90 days for visible results. 1 gram a day.
  2. Capsicum: Increases blood flow to the scalp thus stimulating and accelerating hair growth up to 40-50 percent.
  3. Danshen (Red Sage): Danshen has been known since ancient times to preserve the hair that is currently on your head. Some hair-preserving shampoos include a mixture of sage in them.  Try adding a little sage (liquid alcoholic extract of the leaf) to your shampoo.
  4. Dong Quai: (Chinese Angelica) helps block the process of DHT production. It is a Chinese herb traditionally used for high blood pressure and hair re-growth among other things.  Known as a rare non-animal source of B-12 and aphrodisiac.  Thorough, conclusive testing has not yet been completed.
  5. Evening primrose oil: High in Gamma-Linolenic Acid, which supports hair growth from the inside.  May take as long as 60 to 90 days for visible results. 200 mg – 500 mg a day
  6. Flaxseed oil: One tbsp daily or one tablet – roughly 4,000mg
  7. Fo Ti (Polygonum multiflorum or He shou-wu): A Chinese herb used in Oriental medicine that has been linked to slowing or stopping hair loss.  Try 400-500 mg three times daily.
  8. Full-spectrum Enzyme complex: 1 capsule with each meal
  9. Ginger: It is rich in fatty acids. It boasts properties that increase circulation and stimulate the hair follicle.
  10. Grape Seed Extract: Contains Flavonoids that helps grow epithelial cells.  Take 100-160mg a per day
  11. GREEN TEA EXTRACT: Effective for fighting against the transformation of male testosterone to DHT.
  12. HOPS: Thicken and condition hair with nourishing oils.
  13. Horsetail: Contains Selenium and Silicon.  These minerals promote scalp circulation.  Check with holistic health care provider before use.
  14. Jojoba Oil: Used traditionally for centuries to promote hair growth and for dandruff control. This oil imitates healthy scalp-produced sebum.
  15. L-ARGININE: A natural amino acid necessary to grow new hair.  Hair follicles need nitric oxide.
  16. Lemongrass: Stabilizes natural oil production on the scalp. Amplifies hair and gives the appearance of fullness.
  17. Licorice: This plant legume contains a compound that prevents conversion of testosterone to DHT. Add licorice to your favorite shampoo when you shower.  Too much Licorice may lower potassium in bloodstream
  18. L- LYSINE: Another amino acid that treats hair loss. Take about 1g per day.
  19. NETTLE: Clinically shown to inhibit 5-Alpha Reductase.  Also provides stimulation increasing vitamins A and C, amino acids and minerals to circulate more efficiently throughout the scalp.
  20. Omega-3 fatty acids: Possibly stop hair loss. Some people believe it makes it possible to grow new hair. Fish such as Herring, Salmon and Mackerel contain high amounts.  Also may be taken in supplement form.
  21. Safflower: Aids in the stimulation of blood vessels on the scalp – opening them up for more nutrients to get to the follicle. Used topically in oil form massaged onto scalp or add a small amount into your shampoo.
  22. Rosemary: Shown to increase circulation, remove dandruff and sebum accumulations.  Great when used topically in olive oil and massaged into hair and scalp.  Stimulate the scalp by pouring a quarter-size amount in your hand then gently rubbing onto scalp.  This should improve scalp circulation.  Or instead mix 3 to 5 drops to each ounce of shampoo.
